Film Festival dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Victory Day held in Kyiv

27 April 2010

From 23rd to 26th April, a film festival “Victory – One for Everybody”, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Victory Day, was held at the Culture and Education Centre “Master Klass”. The best films by Soviet film directors dedicated to World War II were screened within the framework of the Festival. Sovexpofilm Company was the organizer of the festival.

The festival was a good reason for veterans and war babies to meet, talk, remember those who were not with them and tell to the young generation about the horror of the war. There was not only sadness in their eyes; their living souls remembered the old days and danced to the sounds of harmony.
The guests reverted to their younger years due to their favourite films; within the framework of the festival they were able to watch masterpieces of Soviet cinematography such as - “The cranes are Flying”, “The Soldier’s Father”, “Aty-Baty the Soldiers were Going”, “I came from childhood”, “Snowdrops and Edelweisses”, “A Song about Manshuk” and “Death does not Exist, Comrades”.

The notable guests gave speeches at the press conference dedicated to the opening of the festival. Among them were: the people’s artist of Russia Yevgeniya Uralova (played in a film “Aty-Baty the Soldiers were Going”), the film director of “Death does not Exist, Comrades”, the people’s artist of Russia Bulat Mansurov, and the famous film director, script writer and producer Roman Balayan.
