A creativity evening dedicated to the son of Arseniy Tarkovskiy – Andriy, became one of the key events within the framework of the Creativity Days of Andriy and Arseniy Tarkovskiy that were held between 14th-17th April at the Culture and Education Centre “Master Klass”.
Many guests attended as more and more people are eager to recall the great film director and learn about his life and work. The evening was held in the Film and Concert Hall of the Centre and led by Frank McGovern and Roman Balayan.
Oleksandr Gordon – a friend and group mate of Tarkovskiy also came to the evening. He recounted details about his friendship and years of study with the film director. His memories were refreshed by two short films he made with Andriy when they were students: “Killers” (1965) and “No Dismissal for Today” (1958).
Later, the sister of the film director Maryna Tarkovska gave a speech. Maryna Arsen’yevna told the audience about her brother, throwing light on some hidden parts of his life, and recounted more things about the genial Tarkovskis family and her own attitude to the modern film directors who are inspired by the creativity of Andriy.
The personal assistant and Andriy Tarkovskiy’s interpreter at the time of the shooting of the film “Sacrifice”, Leila Aleksander recalled her acquaintance with the master, his difficult character, relationships with other members of the film crew and many other things…
The guests also answered all questions, sometimes even the catchy ones! But nevertheless, the evening was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
