The concert “Children Chopeniana”, or “a journey to the world of music for the little ones”
9 March 2010Within the framework of a series of events entitled ‘Days of Chopin’, linked to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Polish pianist and composer Frederic Chopin, on 6th March the concert ‘Children Chopeniana’ took place at ‘Master Klass’, the Cultural and Educational Centre. The concert could also have been called ‘talks near the piano’ as, during the breaks between the actors’ performances the concertmaster told the spectators about the music, destiny, interests and opinions of the great Polish composer. The young spectators (the performance had been created specially for them) learnt about the friendship between two men of genius – Chopin, and his compatriot and great poet Adam Mitskevich, and about the similar and common themes of their creative work. The audience also got acquainted with different music styles such as ballads, nocturne, mazurka, polonaise and waltz…
The stories were portrayed with musical and choreographic performances, and the young participants (among them were pupils from the choreographic studio ‘RELEVE’) proved to be just as good as experienced performers and received a round of applause from the audience.
