Concert «Nicky Rubin Live» to Open Day at "Oxford Klass”

Learning English with music accompaniment has become a good tradition at "Oxford Klass”: jazz and classical music concerts are a common practice at our school. The turn of a rock concert came now. On Saturday, January 15, a rock singer (and also our teacher) Nicky Rubin appeared on the stage of "Master Klass". This way Nicky celebrated his birthday.
The musician called the soiree “an extraordinary English lesson”: during the breaks between songs, he communicated with the audience and asked people to sing along with him. Nicky Rubin also spoke about his life, creativity, the Ukrainian secret love and travelling. At age 17 he ran away from home: went hitchhiking from Paris to Calcutta with131$ in his pocket. He travels a lot now too. One of the songs performed at the concert («Salt River»), was written in south of Africa, on the coast, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet.
Answering the question about sources of inspiration, the singer noted he needed adventures and extreme feelings for creativity. He cannot create songs, living a quiet life.
We, Oxford Klass team, are sure that this concert will inspire Rubin to create new songs, as there was a lot of "extreme" there at the party. What an exciting show it was, when the students sang “Happy Birthday to You” in a rock manner as a present for Nicky!
The soiree was undoubtedly an outstanding top-event. The concert lasted nearly three hours. Students, who were reserved and shy at the beginning, confidently talked with a musician in English at the end, read aloud lyrics of the songs and even went onto the stage to sing along with him.
Those who saw the concert with their own eyes were asured that "Oxford Klass" signifies an atmosphere of creativity, boldness of spirit and rebellion (we are ready to do anything new), and that our teachers are not only excellent specialists, but also extraordinary, creative and charismatic personalities.
