Ukraine joins four countries most interested in Google technologies
8 July 2010
In the world activity rating of Google technology groups the Kyiv group Kyіv GTUG Center, acting with the support of the Study Centre і-Klass, ranked first. It can be witnessed by the data from the global website www.gtugs.org.
Furthermore, Ukraine ranks 4th in the rating of the most active countries, beaten only by Russia, Germany and the USA.
GTUG (Google Technology User Groups) – these are groups of users interested in Google technologies and performing a mission of adaptation and feedback with the Google developers. It is an open platform for meeting and idea and experience sharing between developers, entrepreneurs, users and journalists. It is a unique opportunity to receive the freshest information on Google innovations first hand, and even on the stage of internal research projects.
Vladimir Ivanov, Head of the group:
“We like making experiments with non-standard formats such as Google Wave marathons, developer contests, dev-party… This is the strategy that makes it possible to create resonance events and it has brought us leader status. We have not got used to the notion that it is the Ukrainian branch of global projects that has achieved the biggest success in modern IT! Of course, it inspires the organizers and activist-developers.”
Igor Palamarchuk, the director of the Study Centre i-Klass:
“Nowadays, i-Klass does not earn money by the introduction of Google technologies, but we have decided to support the GTUG movement from the position of social importance of the platform for innovative thinking, technological business and extension of the software development industry. Google’s innovation and creativeness go well together with the i-Klass brand and other projects of the Culture and Education Centre “Master Klass”, that consolidates activities and events creating bright aesthetics for
the future”.
